PAVLO

Saturday, September 9, 2017 - 7:30 PM

Pavlo

For being simply instrumental, Pavlo's Mediterranean music speaks for itself. Over the span of his 20-year career, Pavlo, the internationally renowned, award-winning recording artist, performer and songwriter, has released 10 albums of his own music, plus two collaborative projects, including 2015's Guitarradas with Remigio Pereira of The Tenors, and 2009's Trifecta with fellow guitar masters Rik Emmett and Oscar Lopez.

Born in Toronto to Greek parents, Pavlo has made a name for himself by offering a musical amalgam he simply calls "Mediterranean music" – a blend of Greek, flamenco, Latin, and even Balkan flavors, wrapped in contemporary pop. His music has taken him all around the world. Along the way he's performed for royalty in the likes of Prince Charles and worked and toured with artists such as José Feliciano, Jon Secada, Olivia Newton-John and The Tenors.

It has never been more convincing, Pavlo is a TRUE WORLD artist, and has become famous for bringing every audience to their feet.

Pavlo is currently on tour promoting his second PBS special "Live in Kastoria" Greece and is still driven by his father's famous words: "Have the courage to do what you love, and the drive to do it well."

THE 3 REDNECK TENORS

Saturday, October 21, 2017 - 7:30 PM

3 Redneck Tenors

The 3 Redneck Tenors are a new breed in the "tenor genre" – their musical comedy featuring classically trained veteran artists is like Duck Dynasty goes to Carnegie Hall - down home laughs with big city music!  It has been said that if Larry the Cable Guy, Il Divo, and Mrs. Doubtfire had a baby, that child would be The 3 Redneck Tenors.  Written by opera-veteran Matthew Lord with music arranged by award-winning composer Craig Bohmler, and starring Mr. Lord, Blake Davidson, and Jonathan Fruge, The 3 Redneck Tenors were top finalists on "America's Got Talent" and have been thrilling audiences since 2006.

These boys have seen it all, sing it all, and make us laugh 'till we double over, reminding us that in life, it is not just the destination, it's the journey. Get ready for one side splitting ride as we go on an excursion only the 3 Redneck Tenors could have had… delighting audiences with their vocal prowess and a smorgasbord of songs and music ranging from Gospel, to Country, to Broadway, Pop, and Classical.

The SIDE STREET STRUTTERS

Saturday, November 11, 2017 - 7:30 PM

SIDE STREET STRUTTERS

In 1983 a group of talented musicians attending Arizona State University formed a musical ensemble whose artistic focus centered around the musical traditions of early New Orleans jazz. Now, over 25 years later, the same core members are still together and have expanded their musical palette to include over a half-century of jazz styles from early New Orleans Dixieland and blues to big band swing and popular standards. The Strutters have presented formal concerts, symphony pops performances and student outreach programs in fifty states, seven European countries, Canada and Mexico. Their superb musicianship and award-winning orchestrations have earned them national and international acclaim: NEA awarded fellowships and grants; California Arts Council and Northwest On Tour Roster Artists; First Place Honors, Breda International Jazz Competition, Holland; National radio and television appearances; International Association of Jazz Educators Outstanding Musicianship Award; appearances at dozens of European and U.S. jazz festivals, and a guest presidential performance — all this, in addition to their regular performances at California's Disneyland. In concert, The Side Street Strutters weave a delicate tapestry of lush ballads, whimsical novelty selections, and powerful, challenging arrangements, which showcase the individual artistry of each performer. Together, this energetic and entertaining septet brilliantly captures the essential charm and vibrant energy of Jazz — America's musical heritage.

TWO ON TAP

Saturday, January 20, 2018 - 7:30 PM

Two On Tap

TWO ON TAP marks the creative collaboration of celebrated musical theatre performers Melissa Giattino and Ron DeStefano. Since debuting in February 2010, TWO ON TAP has entertained tens of thousands at theatrical concerts across the USA, gala events, and headline performances onboard luxury cruise liners.
Heralded by presenters and critics, TWO ON TAP aims to breathe new life into classic song-and-dance with clever arrangements, a meaningful connection to the audience, and exciting high-energy routines. Recent accomplishments include multiple appearances at the National World War II Museum in New Orleans, headline spots on Queen Mary 2's historic transatlantic route, and multiple community concert tours including over 100 cities throughout the Midwestern and Mountain states.

Educational outreach and helping to create "tomorrow's audience" are an important part of TWO ON TAP's mission, and Ron and Melissa enjoy leading school and community programs in conjunction with their performances. Their innovative "Tea for Two Outreach," in which local dance students interact with the artists before a concert and join together onstage for a signature song-and-dance group number, has been praised by presenters as an exciting and wonderful way to connect with new audience members and increase ticket sales. Audition workshops for aspiring high-school theatre performers as well as mini-concerts for young people incorporating a structured curriculum on the history and evolution of tap dancing have sparked renewed interest in what some had considered a "lost" art form.
